When I started this project five years ago, I was simply trying to solve a puzzle. Two Mini DV tapes. Unknown faces. An obsession I couldn't shake. I never imagined it would become what it is now.

Five years ago, Hope is Lost began in the spare bedroom of my apartment. This April, it crosses the Atlantic for its US premiere at the 50th Cleveland International Film Festival.
