Animating Still Images

My mixed media animation experiments explore how still images can be brought to life through movement, texture and frame by frame animation. Working with paper, photographs, markers, pens and cut out elements, I experiment with different materials, mark making techniques and ways of creating movement by hand.

This ongoing practice allows me to explore the possibilities of experimental animation beyond traditional techniques, combining tactile materials with playful movement and unexpected details. I’m drawn to the character of handmade work, where imperfections, visible textures and small variations become part of the visual language.

As a film director and animator, I’m interested in how these techniques can bring a distinctive, human quality to moving images, opening up creative possibilities for mixed media animation, music videos, film and branded content.
